I help you see which systems are helping you live and which are keeping you stuck.

Bilingual, telehealth, Texas. For adults who have done what they could on their own and want to do this part with someone.

How I came to this work

I trained as a classical vocalist before I trained as a counselor. The voice teaches you what most fields cannot. You learn that you cannot fake a feeling all the way through to the breath. You learn that the body knows what the mind has not finished thinking. You learn what it costs to operate inside an instrument, and you learn that the cost is invisible to most of the people around you. The training did not leave me when I changed fields. It became the way I listen.

I grew up right outside of El Paso, in Socorro, between two countries and two languages, in a family that taught me early that the same feeling can sound entirely different depending on which language you use to carry it. I learned to translate myself constantly, before I had the words to call it that. Most of the people I now work with are doing some version of the same thing, whether or not they speak two languages.

For most of my early adulthood I was operating inside a cognitive system I did not have a name for, working harder than I needed to in order to look like I was working normally. The understanding came later than I would have liked. What changed things was not understanding alone. It was the slow work of building a life around how I actually function, instead of against it.

Across all of that, the same thing kept being true. Each system I lived inside, the voice studio, the family, my own mind, had its own logic and its own way of absorbing anything I brought to it. The ones that were not built with me in mind cost more to stay inside than they gave back. The ones I learned to build for myself made motion possible. That distinction is what I bring to the room. I help people see which systems are doing which.

Who I work with most

The people who tend to find their way to me are usually some version of this. They are functional. They are good at what they do. They have been carrying something for a long time, and they have learned not to mention it. They have probably tried to fix it on their own. Sometimes that worked, partly. Most of the time it did not.

Some of them are people whose identities overlap with mine. I am bilingual and bicultural, originally from El Paso. I am neurodivergent and queer. Clients who share parts of that often find that we save the first six months of translation. Some of them share none of that, and we work the same depth from a different starting place.

I work with adults across a wide range of presenting concerns. Anxiety that has become the texture of the day. Burnout that does not lift on the weekend. Identity questions that arrived late or are arriving now. Relationships that have outlived the people who started them. Loss that has not been allowed to be loss yet. Versions of yourself that you outgrew but cannot quite put down.

If you are not sure whether what you are carrying is a real reason to call, it is.
